What is "brushed"?
Brushed slate is a special process applied to the surface of the slate to make it feel "aged". The slate feels soft and worn to the touch.

What is chamfered & polished?
The edge of the slate is machined to create a bevelled or slight angle - sometimes referred to as an "eased" edge. In addition, complementing the brushed surface all four sides are machine-polished.

Colouration and tone
Varies from light to darker shades of black and grey. These natural markings and veining are characteristic of our premium slate and serve to highlight the "natural" qualities that set this material apart from others.

• The set is designed to create a "T Shape" hearth
• Both sections are cut from a single slab to form a "set"
• All edges are chamfered and sides polished
• The set is "book-matched"
• Book matching means that when the two sections are joined together to form the "T-Shape" the patterns and veining are all aligned and match.
