In-house cutting
& fabrication.
Done properly.

Every slab can be cut to size and finished by hand in our own Milton Keynes workshop — real machinery, real tolerances, no subcontracting. Here's exactly what we're capable of.

Cutting service

Cut to size, fast

  • In-house 1500mm bridge saw — squares and rectangles, machine-sawn straight edge.
  • Tight tolerances: ±1mm on slate, ±2mm on limestone.
  • Optimised for straight-line geometry to keep turnaround fast.
Signature finishing

Ready to install

  • Hand-honed visible sides, hand-eased top edges — no machine chamfering.
  • Deep grain clean with K30 Pro Stone Cleaner, fresh-water rinsed.
  • Pre-sealed with Stovax Slate Dressing Oil — unpack and install.
For bespoke shapes or complex templates beyond straight cuts, we partner with a specialist fabricator — see the FAQ below.

Precision cutting, in-house

What our workshop can do

01
In-house bridge saw — cuts lengths up to 1500mm with factory-level precision and zero blade chatter.
02
Tight tolerances — ±1mm on slate, ±2mm on limestone.
03
Straight-line geometry — squares and rectangles only, which keeps turnaround genuinely fast rather than promising everything and delivering slowly.
04
Machine straight-cut edge — crisp, perfectly square edges ready to install on arrival.
05
Fresh-water rinsed post-cutting to clear cutting debris before it leaves the workshop.

Signature finishing

Honed, eased, cleaned, sealed

Four finishing steps, all done by hand

01
Honed sides — visible faces are hand-honed with a series of diamond pads, removing saw marks for a smooth, matte finish that reveals the stone's natural grain.
02
Eased edges — top edges are hand-finished with diamond pads for a softened profile. We deliberately don't offer machine chamfering; hand-worked eased edges are our standard.
03
Deep grain cleaning — K30 Pro Stone Cleaner is applied, agitated, and left to dwell before a fresh-water rinse removes all dust and debris.
04
Pre-sealed — visible surfaces and exposed edges are treated with Stovax Slate Dressing Oil. The underside is deliberately left unsealed, to ensure proper adhesion with your bedding compound on-site.
