What our workshop can do
Cut, dressed, cleaned, sealed
Four steps on every cut piece, slate or limestone
Cut to your size — on our bridge saw. Slate: up to three matching pieces from one slab. Limestone: a front hearth and a chamber, each from its own slab.
Edges dressed — cut edges are worked smooth by hand with diamond pads, so no raw saw edge is left.
Deep grain cleaning — K30 Pro Stone Cleaner is applied, agitated, and left to dwell before a fresh-water rinse removes all dust and debris.
Sealed — visible surfaces and exposed edges are treated with Stovax Dressing Oil. The underside is deliberately left unsealed, to ensure proper adhesion with your bedding compound on site.

What shapes can you cut?
Our standard cutting service is optimised for straight-line geometry — squares and rectangles — to guarantee the fastest turnaround. For bespoke shapes or complex templates, see below.
What machinery do you use?
A 1500mm bridge saw for large-format slabs, supplemented by a track-guided Rubi TC180 wet cutting system for smaller, more precise components.
Does the stone arrive ready to install?
Yes. Every Cut to Size piece, slate or limestone, is cut, edge-dressed, deep cleaned and sealed before it leaves the workshop. Stock slabs arrive unsealed unless you add Deep Clean & Seal. A quick wipe after transit is still worth doing.
Can I have a hand-cut edge limestone hearth?
Yes, on black limestone, as a front hearth. Hand-cut edges aren't cut, so the front is our stock 1200 × 380 hand-cut slab, sent whole. Pair it with a chamber cut to your size: choose "Hand-cut front + chamber" on Limestone Cut to Size. Both are cleaned and sealed, with one cutting charge. All other limestone cut work uses sawn-edge slabs.
Are all sides of the stone sealed?
We seal all visible top faces and outward-facing edges with Stovax Slate Dressing Oil. The underside is deliberately left unsealed, to ensure proper adhesion with your bedding compound during installation.
Can you cut bespoke shapes or T-piece sections?
Our in-house service is deliberately limited to straight cuts, which keeps turnaround fast and costs down. A two-piece T-shape (front hearth plus chamber) we do — see Limestone Cut to Size. For curves, one-piece T-shapes and other templates, we partner with a specialist fabricator who stocks our large-format slabs and provides a complete turnkey fabrication service — you'd deal with them directly for quote through to delivery, using our material.
How long does cutting or finishing take?
Cut to Size, slate or limestone: ready in 14 days (Standard) or 7 days (Priority), then 2–4 working days on a pallet or 1–2 on express.
