Overview

The Ready-to-Fit T-Shape Hearth is a two-piece Brazilian black riven slate hearth for a wood burner or stove: a 1200 × 380 × 20mm front with polished, chamfered edges and a 900 × 450 × 20mm back, cut from the same slab so the grain matches. £249 including VAT and pallet delivery to England and Wales, or collect free from Milton Keynes.

What you get
  • Front: 1200 × 380 × 20mm. The long front edge and both ends are polished with a 2mm chamfer.
  • Back: 900 × 450 × 20mm, machine-sawn on all four sides for a tight fit against the front and the fireplace.
  • Overall: 1200 mm wide and 830 mm deep when laid as a T.
  • Book-matched: both pieces are cut one after the other from a single slab.

Sealed or unsealed

Unsealed, the slate is a raw graphite grey; your fitter can oil or seal it on site. Choose Sealed, ready to fit for £15 for the whole set: we deep-clean the slate and apply two coats of Stovax Dressing Oil, which deepens it to a darker, richer black. Sealed sets come with a photo of your actual set before it leaves us.

Fit your hearth within 14 days of delivery; if a slab cracks in that time, we replace it free, including delivery. Need a different size or shape? How is this slab delivered?
At 1500x900mm this is our largest slab and ships on an oversized pallet. Single slab delivery to England and Wales is £130 inc. VAT. Full crates (12 slabs) are delivered free of charge. Scotland, Northern Ireland, and islands — please request a quote at checkout.
Does the slab come sealed?
No — supplied in its natural state. We recommend applying a stone oil or colour-enhancing sealer before installation. Our Signature Finishing Package includes professional edge honing and pre-sealing at our Milton Keynes workshop.
What is the Free Photo Service?
Before your slab leaves our Milton Keynes yard, we photograph it and send you the picture. You see exactly what is arriving before it leaves us — no surprises on delivery day. Included on all Premium grade orders and all Standard grade orders with a service added.
